At Center Mass we feel that just teaching motor skills, technical information, and "how to shoot" is not merely enough when training LE officers that are going into harm's way.

The missing link has always been judgment training and the human factors that go with it.  There are many products and technologies available to give law enforcement more scenario-based training. Many of these are for close quarters, force on force applications and are quite effective. For pistols, SMG's, shotgun, and close range tactical carbine applications, there are the outstanding Simunition Fx marking products and conversion kits. We find these live fire video scenarios are far more realistic than paper targets or using mannequins or other props, which helps our students experience, as close as possible, what they would during a real life rifle engagement.

For the sniper or patrol rifle armed officer there is simply no other way to train on live fire evolutions and have a truly realistic looking scenario where a threat may or may not present its self. In cases such as Popow vs. Margate, Zuchel vs. City and County of Denver, and many others, the court mandated the need for live-fire judgment training for law enforcement officers. It’s no longer an option for an agency to not do realistic and relevant scenario-based training.

For instance, if you wanted to have a two man sniper team deploy from the woods, into a real building, then set up an urban hide, and then deliver accurate fire on a hostage scenario, now you have it.  Or, if you want to have an officer drive up in their scout car, dismount, setup, and live fire on an active shooter or bank robbery scenario, now you have it.
