The Chudwin Award

Now taking nominations for the 2012 recipient (see below).

PRESS RELEASE - 2012 CHUDWIN AWARD / January 27, 2012

The recipient for the 2011 Chudwin Award is Officer Paul Milone, Omaha PD, NE.

This year we received multiple nominations from across the country. NPRC's Advisory and Executive boards reviewed each nomination and the voting was extremely close. In the end, Officer Milone's heroic actions in September 2010, whereby he used his patrol rifle to save the life of a child held hostage by a sword wielding adult, has won this years Chudwin Award.

We want to thank those of you who took the time to nominate so many deserving law enforcement officers. They are all hero's and their actions were truly amazing, admirable, and more than worthy of recognition. They are all truly gun fighters.

In honor of the nation's primary champion of the modern day patrol rifle movement, it is only fitting that this prestigious award be named after the man who has educated and trained so many individuals and organizations on the benefits of a sound patrol rifle program. His professionalism, candor, and counsel have helped countless law enforcement officers through extremely difficult times. His selfless service to the greater good is evident by his every day actions and his motto; "Just do the right thing."

This award has been named after Chief Jeff Chudwin.

Each year, this award will be bestowed upon a deserving law enforcement officer for their actions in battle and/or contributions to the greater cause of preparation, training and education.
