INDOOR RANGE - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!! (Opening June 12, 2012)


As usual, Center Mass follows nobody’s lead. We blaze new paths and set new standards!!! Get ready to bang the gong Detroit!!! The only completely interactive steel commercial indoor gun range in the upper mid-west has arrived.

Unless you have served in the military or law enforcement you probably have not experienced the thrill, gratification and immediate feedback that shooting steel in a combat training environment provides.   

Come engage multiple targets in multiple lanes. Race your pal’s on dueling tree’s, see if you have what it takes to save a life on hostage rescue targets, never let those pesky pneumatic pop-up plates stay up and laugh in your face, and finally, see if your training and skill level are up to the task of engaging lateral moving targets.

Of course, if you prefer, we also will have the standard static paper target range just like every other commercial gun range in the world.

Whatever you like to shoot is fine by us and we welcome the opportunity to bring you Detroit’s newest and premier commercial shooting range.             

Range #1 / Lanes 1 - 5

SHERMINATOR'S ALLEY

Named after Lt. John Sherman, the founding father & commanding officer of Western Wayne County SWAT and Co-Director of CMI's civilian training programs.

Handgun only / Frangible ammunition only

(.380 / .38 / .357 / 9mm / .40 / .45)  

  • 1/2 hour: $15.00                   1 hour: $25.00
  • Second shooter on one lane: $10.00
  • Eyes & Ears: $0.50 each (if you don't have your own)
  • This is a combat oriented steel reactive target range. There are no paper targets on this range. The average shooter will find no better way to have fun while sharpening their defensive gun fighting skills.   
  • 20 yards - Multiple target training environment.
  • Must purchase and use frangible ammo sold at CMI.  
  • Static & hostage rescue steel reactive plates.
  • Steel dueling tree's / steel pneumatic pop-up plates / steel lateral mover.
  • Cross lane engagement of steel targets allowed after 5 yards and further.
  • Rapid fire engagements are allowed on this range.
  • For safety purposes no drawing from the holster is allowed.
  • Standing shooting position only (Wheel chair customers exempt)
  • For safety purposes no "speed or combat" reloading will be allowed.

Range #2 / Lanes 6-10

WAYNE NEWTON'S PLAYGROUND

Named after Det. Mike Lego, former CMI Instructor & Western Wayne County Sniper Team Leader, wounded in action. Call sign "Wayne Newton"    

Handgun / Rifle up to .308 caliber

  • Pistol: 1/2 hour: $11.00                      1 hour: $16.00
  • Second pistol shooter on one lane: $7.00
  • Rifle: 1/2 hour: $15.00                        1 hour: $25.00
  • Second rifle shooter on one lane $10.00
  • Eyes & Ears: $0.50 each (if you don't have your own)
  • Paper target: $0.25 each
  • 20 yards - (Must shoot at your target in your lane)
  • No cross lane engagements
  • Must purchase ammo sold at CMI (Members exempt) 
  • No rapid fire
  • For safety purposes no drawing from the holster is allowed.
  • Standing shooting position only (Wheel chair customers exempt)

GUN RENTAL

When renting a gun from CMI you must purchase and only use the ammunition sold at CMI

Pistols & Revolvers - 1/2 hour: $10.00 or 1 hour: $20.00 

Rifle rentals - 1 hour: $20.00


PRIVATE RANGE RENTAL

When renting a range from CMI you must purchase and only use the ammunition sold at CMI.

Members and government agencies are exempt from this rule on Wayne Newton's Playground, but not for Sherminator's Alley.

Only available at CMI. Includes private instruction. Transforms the entire Wayne Newton Range into your own private gunfighting paradise! Perfect to test your skills or for a very unique corporate team building event.

Customers, groups and members can split the cost and schedule this state of the art training aid. Approximately 1 scenario every two minutes (depends greatly on the proficiency of the participants). This is the ultimate training aid available anywhere in the world. It is credited by CMI students as the training aid that gave them the confidence needed during real life deadly force encounter(s) and the subsequent demise of their adversaries. PRIVATE SHOOTING LESSONS

Must be scheduled one week in advance. Clients can choose their instructor.

$75.00 an hour. Includes range time fee and rental gun if needed. Does not include ammunition.
